Wednesday Additions

The picture on the back of the winter concert program was submitted by the Cassity family.  If you would like to submit a picture for consideration for the spring program (assuming space permits) please send it to Mrs. Wiesner.

SEC - We still need an additional electronic, portable piano for the contest, since we have one that comes with the church and one electronic one that is on loan to the band.

If anyone is willing to share an electronic piano with the band for this event, please contact Mrs. Borow immediately.

- Schedule is being arranged and should be ready by Thursday.

We have 78 events for this Third Annual Solo and Ensemble Contest! It should be an exciting, wonderful morning.

- Please be aware that if you signed up for many events, there is a possibility that you may be playing back-to-back events. This is unavoidable.

Note from Mrs. Borow: Please remember to practice your band music in additions to preparing for the SEC this year. Time will be tight, but please don’t short change our band arrangements. Increase the amount of practice time, if necessary.

The Third Annual Solo and Ensemble Contest for the West Suburban Home School Band is located at:

Lutheran Church of the Master
Located about 1 mile North of North Avenue on Kuhn Road, in Carol Stream
Doors open at 8 am. Judging begins at 8:30 and should end approximately at 12:30.
Schedule to be posted by Thursday.
Please be prompt and come prepared.
Be available, ready to perform, not lesss than 15 minutes before your appointed time.

Important: All contestants must provide the judge with music for their selection, with each measure numbered.

All pieces must be played as written.

GENERAL NEWS:

SEC: The schedule will be developed over this next week. Keep working and perfecting your solos and ensemble. The few of you who are stragglers – get the forms to Mrs. Borow asap.

Registrations and Instrument Rentals: are due immediately for the Spring Trimester.

Building Rule Reminder: Please remember our original rule about this hall – everyone must stay within the confines of Cornelius hall and not loiter in the hallways and upstairs.

All Band Members: Remember to sit according to your parts within your section (i.e. 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd)

Band CD

The CD of the 2004 Winter Concert Songs will be available at the rehearsal on March 4th, 2004.  The cost will be $10 per CD.   Please help support our bands by purchasing one or more CD's.  There are sample clips from the CD on each of the respective band pages as background.  To hear all the clips, you can click here to go to the CD Sample Page.
