Sectionals – Many thanks to all who helped make this evening a worthwhile event for all.

Special thanks to all the adults and older students who led the sectionals, kept them on time, productive and well managed.

Next practice, May 6thwill be a regular practice for everyone, except those who are planning on marching in the percussion section this summer (namely, all interested percussion members as well as oboe players). Mrs. Pfauth will be holding a special marching percussion practice at her house this Thursday, May 6th from 5:45 to 7 to work on cadences, since we have no regular summer music practices this year.

Dates: As the concert season comes to a close, the number of important band dates and deadlines increase. Please check the "dates "section that our webmaster has posted so that all band families can be abreast of the WSHSB schedule.

WWII Memorial Dedication Performance: For the many people who’ve asked, no, this is NOT a marching event. We will assemble on the lawn at the VFW Post, to play a number of patriotic songs to honor WWII Veterans. All WSHSB members are invited and encouraged to participate in this patriotic event. Neither marching experience nor camp is necessary for this. A full showing from the WSHSB is hoped for. Please try to perform in this event, if at all possible. Contact Mrs. Borow for more information. More information is located at the date’s section of this website and will be added as it is acquired

Band Declarations: Many members indicated their intentions for next concert season. We still need to hear from lots of members though. Please check with Mrs. Wiesner and/or Samantha Borow, who is helping collect responses. A full WSHSB roster is contained in a red folder and can be found at Mrs. Wiesner’s table through May 15th. The decisions indicated on this roster will be used to formulate the summer audition schedule.

If you are able to volunteer for any of the following tasks, please contact the band’s volunteer coordinator, Helen Herbst at volunteer@wshsb.com. Also, watch for sign-up sheets at our weekly rehearsals.

Parking lot monitors on 5/6 and 5/13 at these times: 5:40–6:00 p.m., 6:40–7:20 p.m., 8:00–8:20 p.m, and 9:00-9:20 p.m. This involves ensuring that students arrive and leave band safely and with appropriate behavior on church grounds. Two adults are still needed for all but one time slot.

Practice hall set-up on 5/6, 5/13, and 5/20 at 5:15 p.m. This involves moving tables and chairs. One adult is still needed for each date.

One more adult is needed for stage set-up and tear down at the spring concert to assist with chair arrangements for band members, microphones, podium, curtains, flags, and band banners.

If you are attending any home school group curriculum nights, please consider taking some brochures and the band’s display board and scrapbook to the group.

Please remember to share photos with Cadet parent Mary Rose Cardinal, who is updating the display board and scrapbook.

Please e-mail photos to Dan Lace for the web site.

Please advise Mrs. Borow if you know someone who can assist the band with filing taxes. Tax-exempt status is in progress.

 Thank you!
