Rehearsal Notes March 17, 2005 Happy St. Patricks Day! THERE WILL BE NO BAND ON THURSDAY, MARCH 24TH IN OBSERVANCE OF HOLY THURSDAY. Next band rehearsal will be March 31st. Please continue to practice diligently daily over the vacation. Have a good holy week, as you meditate on the passion and death of our Lord and a glorious Easter, as we commemorate His Resurrection. Happy Easter in advance from Mrs. Wiesner-Pardee, Mrs. Pfauth and Mrs. Borow. BOOSTER NOTES MARCH 17 After concert social event. A room has been booked at Wheaton College. We need some
people to take care of any or all of the following: GENERAL NEWS: Surveys - There are always lots of "survey" type forms to check out at the front desk. Please remember to read these and respond. More will be arriving as the trimester presses on. Most are regarding helping us plan for next season. Helpers please dont be surprised or offended if I ask you not to play on various passages and songs, going forward. I am evaluating the musical level of each group and dont want it to be too "inflated" by the added experience of the helpers. Please know, though, that we appreciate your assistance. Symphonic Band - Just received another email from Wheaton College that the clinic on what its like to be a music major was cancelled. Our time slot is still the same. Watch the website on Monday for possible late news additions regarding the invitational, since Wheaton College continues to communicate via email with me. Music Notes: EE1 p.35 Quest for the Grail Old Rugged Cross Vandivere Fanfare Air and Alleluia Cadets With Concert: Chorale and Toccata Ashgrove clar. quiz Jolly Coppersmith clar quiz Fiero carefully check ALL articulation (tonguing) Fiddler La Bella Roma Symphonic Band For Invitational: You should play Chorale and Rolling Thunder some before Tuesday so it is ready. Please work on improving precision/accuracy by playing it with the web recroding. As far as the Spring Concert songs go, I will continue to rotate the other three (Liberty, Joshua and Lassus) to continue improving them as well. But nearly all our efforst need to go into Colas and Die Meister. Clarinets, you have an especially important role on Die Meister, since you are handling the transcribed violin parts. Very important. Please consider organizing a/some sectionals to work on these parts, either outside of band or using the kitchen after band. Contact Mrs. Herbst (I think) to arrange a date on the kitchen schedule Liberty Bell Once again, excellent job, T-bones, on Lassus. It is so much improved. I was very impressed. Now all we have to do is keep the road map straight (as a group) on that one! And see you at noon on Tuesday, March 22nd.
