Timpani: Please do not adjust the timpani pedal controls. Their tension adjustment has been professionally set and is very sensitive. Tampering with this setting now requires the director to have to load the timpani in the van and take them to the shop to have them readjusted.

Band pictures: Please feel free to pass them along band pictures to Mrs. Lace via the computer for the band website. If anyone has a nice group shot from the county fair in front of the tent, please submit it.

Concert/Symphonic Band: Jan 11 and Feb. 29^th – request to play National Anthem for a Home School Gymnastics meet, which will be held at the Carol Stream Simcus Center, at 2 p.m. Anyone interested in playing is welcome to join by signing up at the Mrs. Wiesner table.

Upcoming Band Dates

As stated in the WSHSB Handbook, the dress rehearsal and the winter concert are mandatory. All other performances are optional, though the WSHSB always benefits from high attendance. Following is a partial calendar through January of upcoming dates and performances:

Friday, Nov. 28th - Wheaton Light-up parade  - report in: 5; step-off: 6 p.m.(info below).  For a map to the Wheaton Light Up Parade, click here.

Tuesday, Dec. 2^nd , 4 pm – Cadet French Horn/trombone sectional, Borow’s home

Thursday, Dec. 4^th – Last rehearsal before Yorktown
Saturday, Dec. 6th - Yorktown Christmas Performance: report in at 3; perform at 4pm Saturday, Dec. 13 - 1-2:30 - Outdoor Christmas Performance by the Fountain; Wheaton, All band members welcome to play. Sign up with Mrs. Wiesner
Sunday, Jan. 11 - 2 p.m. - National Anthem for Home School Gymnastic Meet - Carol Stream Park District - Concert/ Symphonic Band
Thursday, January 29th - Dress Rehearsal for Winter Concert - Manditory
Saturday, January 31st - WINTER CONCERT 7-9 p.m. Holmstad Center, Batavia - Manditory
Sunday February 29 -  2 p.m. - National Anthem for Home School Gymnastic Meet - Carol Stream Park District - Concert/ Symphonic Band

Due to Mrs. Borow going out of town on Friday morning, other rehearsal notes and the order for next rehearsal will be submitted for Wednesday’s additions instead of tomorrow (Friday). Have a good weekend and keep practicing.

WHEATON LIGHT UP PARADE INFO

When: Friday, November 28^th – line-up at 5:15, parade step-off at 6 p.m.

Where: Wheaton City Hall at 303 W. Wesley in Wheaton. Our unit is #10.

Parade travels south on Wesley to Front Street, where it will go east on Front to Cross St.

There should be available parking in the following places: City Hall; Anywhere along the tracks; Parking deck (which might be congested if you need to leave right away);

National Lewis University south of the tracks (which might be good if you need to leave right away); Wheaton Public Library 2 blocks north of Front Street just east of Cross, or any side street you can find.

Dress code: warm clothes and Santa hats. Cadets and Little Patriots bring jingle bells if possible. As always, take care of washroom needs before leaving home. There will be festivities after the parade. Stay if possible and enjoy.
