Wednesday Update for October 19, 2005
Location Omitted
In last week’s rehearsal notes you learned about the date and time of
the Jacket and Pants Fitting/Exchange. The location, the Borow’s home in Winfield,
was not included. Their house is not far from the intersection of Roosevelt and Winfield

New Seating Chart
In order to achieve a more balanced sound from the band we are going to try
one or more alternate seating arrangements over the coming weeks. Look for a new chart
tomorrow, Thursday, at practice.
Light-up Parade times
We now have the times for the Wheaton Light-up Parade, on Friday, November
25th. We are to gather at 5pm, with parade step-off at 6. Where we are to gather will be
announced as soon as the location is confirmed. We need to know, as soon as possible,
how many band members will be participating. If you have not put a check in one of the
columns (yes or no) after your name on the sign-up sheet, please do so this week.
Do the same for the Yorktown Shopping Center Christmas Performance. These performances are
voluntary.
Washboard Still Needed
We still need one more old-fashioned washboard. If you have one you can
lend to the band, please label it with your name and bring it to practice.
Sectionals Anyone?
In the past, there has been interest expressed in having occasional band
sectionals. An opportunity has presented itself. A different location and several times
slots are available to us outside of our regular Thursday practice.

Date: Monday, November 21st, the week of Thanksgiving
Times: 12-1pm Concert Junior, 1-2 pm Concert Senior, 2-3 pm Symphonic
For each time-period, there will be three rooms available,
one room each, for brass, woodwind and percussion.
Starting tomorrow at band, there will be sign-up sheets available for Concert Junior,
Concert Senior and Symphonic. We need to know how many students are interested and
available to participate. Once again, we ask that you indicate your choice by checking
"Yes" or "No" on the sign-up sheet for your band level.
If there are not sufficient, available, participants signed-up by the end of practice on
November 10th, we will not hold this group of sectionals.
